Fame and fortune await you! Write an article for Tappistry.org!!!

How would you like to help your fellow man, have some fun, and gain fame and noterioty … uh, we mean, fame and … well, fame?

It’s not that difficult to become visible to your tapping bretheren around the world. Just contribute an article for the online archives. With your published article, you will of course receive a nice bio, a picture of your handsome face, and links to your website or other contact information that you want to have published. If you’ve got some CDs, books or other products, or something you’d like to plug, we can work that in, too.

Some of you reading this already have some article material on hand. Maybe it’s a page of ‘how-to’ from your website. Maybe it’s a lesson that you wrote up because you teach. Maybe it’s a really cool post that you made on a mail list one time, where you described something and you thought you did a good job.

Then again, maybe you’ve been kind of mulling over something valuable you’d like to share, but you weren’t sure exactly how to go about it. Or maybe some pal of yours has something great, and you could go into cahoots with him to publish it here!

Writing an article isn’t hard. And if you’ll look at some of the examples in our archive, you’ll see that articles aren’t very long. In fact, one of the best ways to write a really useful article is to describe one thing, tell why it’s a useful thing, explain how to do that thing, and then stop.

If you’ve got some photos, sometimes these make a good article, too. Or if you or your pal know how to work a camera, how about three or four photos that show how to do a set-up, adjust a pickup, finger some cool chords?

Article Guidelines

The best articles are short, and discuss one thing. It’s good if you explain the purpose or why this subject is handy at the beginning, then give a detailed description of how to do this one thing. If you have some references where the reader can learn more (such as your website, books, or tapes, heh heh), it’s good to weave that in so your readers can follow up and learn more.

Photos really help an article, if appropriate. At the very least, please provide us with your publicity photo. If you don’t have one yet, shame on you! A candid picture is fine, of course. And we’ll need your bio information and tell us what contact info you want published. (If you don’t want your home address and phone listed, please let us know!)

Try to think of a short, and interesting title. If people like the title, they’ll read the article. But we can help with the title if you wish.
